GoM to decide fate of flats in Games village
A ministerial panel will examine if the violation of building bylaws in construction of 65 flats at the Commonwealth Games Village on an area beyond permissible limits could be condoned, the Central government informed the Delhi high court on Thursday.
The counsel for the ministry of urban development told Justice Hima Kohli that the Group of Ministers will examine if the violation could be condoned by regularising the 65 flats built in excess of the floor area ratio limit.
On the counsel’s submission, the bench directed the Cabinet Secretariat to request the GoM to examine the issue expeditiously so that DDA could issue the completion certificate to the builder and the flats could be allotted to the buyers.
DDA counsel Ajay Verma submitted that the agency has asked the urban development ministry to take a decision on violation of the floor area ratio beyond permissible limits of five per cent in building the flats by Emaar MGF.
The DDA had sealed 65 flats on October 29.
