Girl, 9, raped in n. Delhi, cops nab shopkeeper
A nine-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour at Burari in North Delhi. The incident took place on Saturday evening when the victim was playing outside her home and the accused lured and allegedly raped her. The accused, Harish, has been arrested. The police said that the accused runs a general store in Sant Nagar, Burari.
“The incident came to light on Saturday evening when the victim’s parents approached the police and informed them that their daughter was raped by their neighbour,” a senior police officer said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination which confirmed rape. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case was registered under Section 376 of the IPC and sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) at the Burari police station.
“The accused was arrested from his residence and he told the police that he lured the victim when she was outside her home. He took her to his shop where he raped her,” the officer added.

Decomposed body of woman found in ghaziabad
Ghaziabad, July 7: A highly-decomposed body of a woman was found near Hapur Road overbridge in Siyani Gate area here on Sunday.
The body, bearing wounds, wrapped in a sheet was noticed by a passerby, the police said.
Prima facie it appears that the woman, aged about 30 years, met her end about a week back and the body was dumped near the overbridge on Sunday morning, Station house officer, Siyani Gate, Pramod Gautam said.
There were injury marks on her stomach, he said, adding the body has been sent for the post-mortem examination.
The police official did not rule out the possibility of murder and said, “We are probing all aspects related to the matter.” — PTI
