Girl, 14, beaten up on resisting gangrape bid
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly brutally beaten up by four persons when she resisted their attempt to rape her. The incident was reported in Aman Vihar area of outer Delhi.
The police have apprehended a juvenile in this connection while manhunt is on to nab the other accused who are on the run after the incident.
According to the police, the 14-year-old girl, a resident of Hind Vihar in Aman Vihar area, had gone to buy vegetables from the market on October 14. When she was returning home thorough a DDA park she was assaulted by the accused.
“The accused were roaming in the park when they saw her alone and tried to rape her. They brutally beat up her when she resisted their attempt. The victim fell unconscious after she was burnt with a lit cigarette,” said a police official.
Hearing the noise, locals gathered and informed the parents of the girl who took her to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
“We have registered an FIR under Sections 354 and 323 of the IPC and further investigations in the matter are on,” the official added.
