Geetika’s family called for probe
The Delhi police is still searching for former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda’s two mobile phones to get details of his conversation with his former employee Geetika Sharma who committed suicide here on August 5. The police has already recovered two phones and claimed to have collected enough evidence from them. The police will also seek further custody of Mr Kanda.
“We will seek custody of Kanda in the next hearing on Tuesday,” said DCP (northwest) P. Karunakaran.
Meanwhile, Geetika’s brother Ankit, father Dinesh and mother Anuradha were called by the police at the Ashok Vihar police station on Monday. They were supposed to be examined in front of Mr Kanda. However, police officials did not confirm the cross-examination. They emerged from the police station after one-and-a-half hour.
“The Delhi police has enough evidence in this case and will soon come to a conclusion,” Ankit told reporters here after leaving the Ashok Vihar police station.
Meanwhile, a senior police official said that Mr Kanda’s former employee Ankita Singh has not been questioned yet. Captain Varun, whose name surfaced during interrogation of Mr Kanda, has also not been questioned.
Sources said that they could be questioned if any evidence surfaces indicating their link with Geetika’s suicide.
