Gang steals side mirrors of bmws

A gang of burglars in south Delhi is targeting high-end BMW cars, stealing their side view mirrors. Two incidents have been reported in a week from Lajpat Nagar and Safdarjung Enclave areas.

In the first incident, Tarun Kumar, director of Minda Auto Car Ltd., informed the Safdarjung police that he had parked his car outside his B-block residence on Monday and was having dinner when his neighbour informed him that the protective cover of his car was lying on the road and the side view mirrors were missing. Mr Kumar had purchased the car last month. A case was registered.
In the second incident, Ms Kanwaljit Kaur told the police that her husband had parked his BMW 5 series car outside their Lajpat Nagar III residence last Friday and they had gone for a walk when the theft took place.
“When we returned, I found my car’s side view mirrors missing. I approached the police and a case was registered,” Ms Kaur said.
The police is suspecting that the two incidents are connected and that a gang is behind these thefts.
“We are investigating the cases,” a senior south district official said.
