Forms sold on Day 1 exceed available seats
Nursery admissions kickstarted on Saturday in the city as most of the schools sold forms on the first day outnumbering the total number of seats for nursery.
Laxman Public School sold a whopping 500 forms on the first day. “We sold 500 forms and over 100 were downloaded on the first day,” principal Usha Ram said.
The Tagore International School sold over 250 forms. “We sold 250 forms for 134 seats and a number of people must have downloaded also because we have that facility too,” said principal Madhulika Sen.
Similarly, Goodlay Public School sold 164 forms on the first day from 8 am to 12 pm. Ramjas R.K. Puram sold 150 forms against 135 seats while M.M. Public School in Pitampura sold 125 forms while it has 100 seats. Other schools in the city also sold a good number of forms.
Springdales and Mount Carmel are scheduled to start the sale of forms from January 3.
The last date of receipt of applications will be January 15.
The last date of publication of the list of selected candidates and those on the waiting list will be released on February 1 and the second list will be published on February 28.

4 held for knocking down cop
New Delhi, Jan. 1: Angry over the police for not removing barricades set up on roads to check crime on New Year eve, four young men allegedly ran their car over a 40-year-old constable in east Delhi and injured him. Constable Naval Kishore sustained a fracture in the arm besides other injuries in the incident near V3S Mall in Lakshmi Nagar around 10 pm on Friday, a senior police official said on Saturday.
The four youth Chandan, 32, Tarun, 24, Sandeep, 26, and Jaswinder, 25 were in their car and demanded that the barricades put up near the mall be removed as they could not go past them.
However, there was enough way to do that and when the policemen pointed out this, two of the four men entered into an argument, the official claimed. They suddenly got into the car and then drove past Kishore knocking him down, the official said.
The police arrested Chandan, Tarun and Sandeep Saxena while Jasbir is absconding.
Kishore was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where doctors said he was in a stable condition.
Chandan and Tarun were allegedly involved in separate accident cases earlier while Sandeep has been booked under Arms Act in 2009. —PTI
