Foreign woman scribe robbed in GK
A foreign woman journalist working in the city became the latest target of bike-borne assailants in the upscale Greater Kailash area in broad daylight on Monday.
The police said the victim, identified as Helen Roberts, was robbed of her belongings by the two assailants just as she had left her office in the upscale Greater Kailash Part II.
The incident took place at around 5 pm when Helen was walking from her office to board a cab.
“Two assailants riding a black Pulsar motorcycle intercepted her and snatched her bag containing her Apple Macbook, two Android phones, her passport, a camera, her bank cards, some cash and keys. The assailants sped away before the victim could react,” a senior police official said.
The woman journalist started screaming for help which caught the attention of the passersby.
A call was made to the police control room and a PCR van arrived at the spot. The woman journalist was then rushed to the CR Park police station where she lodged a complaint against the accused.
The victim, Helen Roberts, who works for London-based Barcroft Media, has told the police that the assailants were apparently following her when she left her Greater Kailash office. Police sources further said that one of the assailants was wearing a helmet while the other had long hair.
“We have registered a case against the unidentified biker duo and further investigations in the case are on. Some suspects have been picked up for questioning but no arrests have been made so far,” the official said.
