Ex-MLAs to get cashless treatment
The Delhi government on Thursday approved a proposal to provide medical facilities to former MLAs, treating them at par with sitting legislators.
The government approved a modification in the office memorandum regarding improvement in Delhi Government Employees Health Scheme (DGEHS) with an aim to provide comprehensive healthcare facilities to ex-MLAs. Delhi health minister A.K. Walia said that it has been decided to do away with the need for authorisation or permission for entitled treatment for self and dependent family members in private recognised hospitals with regard to ex-MLAs.
Further ex-MLAs will also be allowed treatment on cashless basis in empanelled private hospitals and diagnostic centres.
The payment for such cashless treatment would be made by Delhi Legislative Assembly.
