Ex-banker raped in guesthouse
A 23-year-old former employee of a multinational bank was assaulted and raped, allegedly by a colleague, in a guesthouse in southeast Delhi’s Sunlight Colony on Wednesday.
The police officials said the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at a guest house located in Sarai Kale Khan area when the accused, identified as Lokesh Kumar, locked the victim inside a guestroom and forcefully raped her. The matter came to light after the victim approached the police and narrated the incident. Lokesh, a former employee of the same bank, has been arrested.
The victim, a resident of the Sunlight Colony area, alleged that she was thrashed by the accused, a resident of Paharganj. “She alleged that she was assaulted by Lokesh who is her former boss. We sent the girl to a government hospital where the doctors confirmed rape. On the basis of her complaint and the medical report, a case under Section 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered against Lokesh. He was produced before a city court that sent him to judicial custody,” said a senior police official said, adding that the accused’s father is a government bank employee. The sources revealed that Lokesh had brought the victim to the guesthouse on the pretext of taking her to a doctor for treatment.
