Ex-ACP alleges assault by cop, former tenant
A retired assistant commissioner of police was assaulted allegedly by a constable and his accomplices in Malviya Nagar on Monday night.
Police sources said the victim, B.L. Bhardwaj, was allegedly assaulted by the assailants at his office in Gupta Colony.
Sources said the victim has blamed head constable Devendra, a milkman Nagendra and their friends in a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station. “Bhardwaj had rented his shop to Devendra. In December, Bhardwaj asked Devendra to vacate the shop but he was reluctant. After vacating the shop, Devendra threatened him on a number of occasions,” a source said.
Sources said that Devendra had reportedly demanded `6 lakhs from Bhardwaj which he refused to give.
