Engineering Student kills self, probe on

A 20-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence in northwest Delhi’s Bhajanpura area on Sunday evening.

The police said the victim was upset over his parents’ refusal to let him ride motorcycle after he met two back-to-back accidents few months ago. The deceased, Dheeraj Kumar, a resident of West Ghonda, Bhajan-pura, was pursuing diploma in electric engineering from Pusa polytechnic.
A police team rushed to the victim’s house after a PCR call and found him lying unconscious. “We saw froth coming out of his mouth which suggested that he had consumed something poisonous. He was immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival,” said the senior officer
The body was handed to his parents after post mortem. The police said the exact reason behind the extreme step could not be ascertained as no suicide note was recovered from the spot. A case has been registered and the statements of his family members are being recorded.
