Drunk businessman rams car,70-yr woman dies, 5 injured

A 70-year-old woman was killed and four others were injured after a speeding Swift Dzire car being driven by a drunk businessman hit them near SDA Market in Safdarjung Enclave area of south Delhi on Thursday afternoon. The deceased senior citizen was identified as Sushila.
A senior police official said the victim died of cardiac arrest after being hit by the car. The police got a call about the incident at around 12.30 pm.
The police said the accused identified as Sidhhartha Grover was arrested and later released on bail. “Grover was heading towards his office. When he reached near IIT Gate he lost his balance over his car and rammed it into another car and also hit a fruit shop. His car ran over five persons before coming to a halt,” said the police official.
“Sushila, her daughter Anu and four others namely, Brij Mohan, Rajiv, Dushyant and Manoj suffered injuries in the incident. They were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where Sushila was declared brought dead. The condition of Anu was also stated to be critical by the doctors. Grover was nabbed by the mob and handed over to the police,” said the police official. The police registered an FIR in this respect.
