DMRC official faces harassment charge
A senior Delhi Metro official has been accused of molesting a female colleague. The DMRC has ordered an internal inquiry to look into the allegations.
The woman, a legal advisor, claimed that she was being harassed by her senior for the past few days, a senior police official said. The woman has filed a complaint at the Barakhamba police station and has informed the top management of the organisation as well.
A case of molestation has been registered against the official under Sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 509 (making indecent gestures to insult a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. No arrest has been made in the case.
A Delhi Metro spokesperson said a complaint has been received from a woman employee alleging misbehaviour by her senior.
“A three-member inquiry committee, consisting of two senior lady officers and an officer from the HR department of DMRC, has been constituted to look into the matter,” the spokesperson said.
