CRPF to provide its hi-tech ambulances
Now the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will provide hi-tech ambulances to the Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organising Committee. The ambulances which are likely to be deployed at various polyclinics during Games are specially designed for medical emergencies, said a Delhi government official.
“These ambulances are also likely to be used in the Naxal-affected areas,” pointed a CRPF official.
The CRPF has already procured two such ambulances which will be used during Games. Officials said more such ambulances would be bought.
The CRPF, which is providing nearly 5,000 security personnel, including 300 commandos for Games, on Friday flagged off the ambulances which will be subsequently handed over to the Organising Committee.
These vehicles come fitted with all modern gadgets for medical care including centralised oxygen system.
The ambulances will be placed at the CRPF Officers Training Academy in Kadarpur, where the shooting range for Games is located.
At least five medical officers and 25 paramedical staff have been deputed for each ambulance.
Meanwhile, the personnel have undertaken a four-week training at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, added the Delhi government officials.
The Delhi police will carry out a final security briefing for all paramilitary personnel next week, soon after the lockdown of all venues begins, said sources.
