Crime branch detains 4, claims headway in killings
A day after a 62-year-old businessman and his three servants were found brutally murdered in Vivek Vihar area of east Delhi, the crime branch of the Delhi police detained four persons, including a woman, in this connection.
Speaking to this newspaper, additional commissioner of police (crime branch) Ravindra Yadav said that the police is close to cracking the case.
“We have recorded the statements of over a dozen people in this connection. Robbery seems to be the motive behind the murder while we are probing the case with all possible angels,” said ACP Yadav.
However, Mr Yadav was tight lipped when he was asked about the detention.
The deceased businessman, Bajrang Lal Bokadia, and his three servants Vinod Dubey, Bhola Singh and 18-year-old domestic help Anand were killed on Sunday night.
The last rites of the deceased were performed at the Nigambodh Ghat in the city on Tuesday. Local BJP leaders were also present.
Meanwhile, a day after a double murder case of a 90-year-old woman and her 55-year-old daughter in Shakarpur, the police is still groping in the dark to figure out why they were killed.
Speaking to this newspaper, the deputy commissioner of police (east) Ajay Kumar said the police was busy in investigations. The deceased Rampati and her daughter Rajni Devi were fond murdered with their throats slit on Monday morning at their house in Shakarpur area of east Delhi.
