Cops seize laptop of JNU youth
Two days after JNU student Akash committed suicide after attacking his female classmate, the police seized the laptop belonging to the deceased from his hostel room.
A police official said the data in his laptop will be scanned to get proof in connection with the case.
The police has still not been able to record the statement of Roshni, who is undergoing treatment at the ICU of Safdarjung Hospital.
A police official close to the investigation said that the police will record a video statement of the victim. The source said that the decision of recording the video statement of the victim was taken by a senior police official.
“We don’t know who helped Akash in getting a countrymade pistol. Perhaps, he brought it from Bihar. The pistol looks like Munger brand,” said the senior police official.
Earlier, the police had said that the roommate of Akash was found to be innocent.
Meanwhile, Roshni who was attacked with an axe and stabbed by a jilted lover is said to be “stable”. According to the doctors attending upon her at the Safdarjung Hospital here, Roshni is showing signs of recovery. With slight improvement in her condition she was taken off the ventilator support on Friday evening.
However sources said that she is still in the intensive care unit (ICU).
According to the doctors treating Roshni, her brain responsive system is still not working properly as her arteries and nerves have been badly injured in the attack. However, doctors are not planning any further surgeries in the coming week.
