Cops raid brothel, rescue 4 women
Four women forced into flesh trade were rescued by the police from a brothel on G.B. Road in Central Delhi on Thursday night. The victims were brought to the capital on the pretext of being provided jobs in multinational companies.
A senior police official said the women girls in the age group of 26 to 30 years were sold to a pimp at a brothel over a year ago.
An NGO approached the police following which a raid was conducted.
“Among the four rescued women, one belongs to West Bengal, two hail from Solapur, Maharashtra, while one is a native of Andhra Pradesh. They belong to poor families and were in search of job. They were sold at brothel no. 41 in the area. We conducted raids and rescued them. The pimps managed to escape. Raids are being conducted to nab them,” said the senior police official.
An FIR has been registered and the families of the women are being contacted.

Vehicles gutted in Alipur factory fire

A major fire broke out at a factory in Alipur area of Outer Delhi. However, no one was hurt in the incident.
A fire official said the fire engulfed two godowns nearby. Many vehicles were gutted in the incident.
“The fire started in the godown in which motor parts were kept. It soon engulfed two more godowns where papers were stored. We got a call about the blaze at around 5 am. Immediately 19 fire engines were sent to the spot to douse the fire. The fire was brought under control by 7 am,” said the fire official.
The cause of fire is said to be a short circuit.
