Cops nab murder convict on the run
The crime branch of Delhi police has arrested a murder convict who had jumped parole.
A senior police official said that accused identified as Sunil, alias Fundi, was involved in more than 75 criminal cases.
Sunil, alias Fundi, was carrying a reward of `50,000 and was wanted in a slew of robbery cases.
An US-made pistol along with four live cartridges and a stolen car were recovered from his possession.
“On his disclosure, ganglord Karnail Singh was arrested for providing him arms. Commonly known as ‘Karnaila’, Singh has been committing crimes in Delhi since 1990 and till date is involved in 76 cases,” said the police.
Meanwhile, a man tried to set himself on fire by pouring petrol on himself in Lodhi Colony. A police official said Bhaskar Joshi, an artist, was detained. Joshi had tried to commit suicide two times earlier also.
Around six months ago, he climbed on the seventh floor of a building and threatened that he would end his life by jumping. But he later alighted from the building.
