Cops look for 5 domestic helps of murdered couple
The police has gathered that there was a friendly entry in the east Delhi residence of well-known theatre personality Radhakrishen Bararoo who was brutally murdered along with his wife Durga Devi.
“Durga Devi was suffering from dementia and she had changed five domestic helps in five months,” said a senior police official. “We are now on the lookout for the domestic helps and they will be questioned,” he added.
The police was groping in the dark for clues from Tuesday, when the incident took place in east Delhi.
75-year old Radhakrishen Bararoo and Durga Devi were found lying in a pool of blood in their Shakarpur residence on Tuesday evening and their house was found ransacked.
A senior police official said on Wednesday that it appeared to be a case of robbery-cum-murder.
However, investigators said they were yet to find any clue and are questioning several people.
“It was a friendly entry into the house. The house was ransacked. We feel that three-four people were involved in the attack,” the official said.
The couple, who were last seen at around 2 pm before the incident happened, is survived by three children.
Bararoo, whose passion was theatre, organised a large number of plays in the Kashmir Valley in the 1960s. He later joined the Song and Drama Division of Information and Broadcasting ministry and retired as director in Delhi in 1999.
