Cop hit by biker at picket, hurt
A Delhi police constable was attacked by a biker when he was checking vehicles in Narela area of Outer Delhi on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Independence Day and suffered serious injuries. A senior official said the police managed to nab the associate of the accused biker and the injured constable was rushed to the Sushruta Trauma Centre near ISBT.
“Constable Jasvinder Singh was checking vehicles along with other staff near Lampur border. When he saw two persons travelling on a bike in suspicious manner, he indicated them to stop. But the biker accelerated and hit the constable. Jasvinder suffered severe injuries and shouted in pain. Other police staff rushed to his rescue on hearing his scream. The biker managed to flee but the policemen managed to nab the pillion rider,” said the official.
A box containing illegal liquor was recovered from his possession. The injured constable was rushed to the Sushruta Trauma Centre near ISBT where he is undergoing treatment. The doctors have said that his condition is critical.
The man arrested is being interrogated about his associate. An FIR has been lodged at the Narela police station and probe is on.
