Cop arrested for paper peak
The officials of crime branch of the Delhi police on Sunday said that they have arrested two more persons, including a Delhi police constable, in connection with the RPF recruitment paper leak case. The crime branch had earlier arrested six persons, including two accused and four candidates, in this connection.
“One Robin was arrested recently. He revealed that one Jai Karan was also involved in the case. The police conducted a raid in Meerut at his address and arrested Jai Karan. A cellphone used in the commission of crime has been recovered from him,” said the police official.
Jai Karan revealed that he provided answer keys of various competitive examinations held for government posts through his associate Vikas a native of Muzaffarnagar. Robin was appearing in the examination of multi tasking staff (MTS) exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. He had approached Jai Karan who demanded `7,000 from him to provide him answer keys of the paper. However, Jai Karan could not arrange the answer keys and assured Robin that he would arrange answer keys of the RPF exam in lieu of the amount. Jai Karan arranged answer keys for Robin for the RPF exam.
“Another accused Sunny revealed that he had received the answer keys from three mobile phone numbers through SMSes. One of the cellphone numbers was being used by a Delhi police constable, Mohit, who was posted at the Defence Colony police station. Mohit was interrogated and he confessed his involvement. Mohit revealed that one Pawan was running the racket,” said the police official.
Pawan struck a deal of `3 lakhs with Mohit for providing the answer keys through SMS.
