Cong MLAs slam tariff, parking hike
In the absence of the Opposition in the Assembly, Congress MLAs appear to have assumed the role of the BJP MLAs by attacking the government on the issue of hikes in power tariff hike, water and metro parking charges.
Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma slammed the government for the power tariff hike and the metro-parking hike.
“The power supply companies are making a hole in the pockets of common people. There is no system of audit of these companies. I urge the government to appoint CAG for a regular audit of these companies,” Mr Sharma said adding that there are many irregularities in the electricity bills, which are planted by the private companies to make more money. Mr Sharma also came down heavily on the DMRC for the hike in the parking charges.
Meanwhile, chief secretary P.K. Tripathi said on Friday that all departments under the city government will be brought under the “Delhi Right of Citizen To Time Bound Delivery of Services Act”, although it had earlier said that only a few departments would come under the law that comes into effect from September 15.
