Cong lists achievements in 15-yr rule report card
The city Congress on Wednesday launched a report card of its 15 years’ rule in Delhi. Chief minister Sheila Dikshit, DPCC chief J.P. Agarwal, Congress general secretary and Delhi pradesh in charge Shakeel Ahmad and other senior leaders launched the report of Congress government’s achievements. The launched was scheduled for August 15 but got delayed.
This newspaper had on August 11 first reported Ms Dikshit’s plan of a report card of her government’s 15 years of rule.
Ms Dikshit said the dossier would remind citizens of Delhi how the city has changed in last 15 year’s of Congress’s rule. The document accuses BJP of misgovernance as it compares Ahmedabad and Bhopal, both capitals of BJP-ruled states, with Delhi.
“In these 15 years, kids who were three-year-old have become 18 now. This book will tell them that Delhi was not the same. It has changed drastically under the Congress rule of 15 years,” she said.
“The BJP is trying to mislead people with baseless allegations. This government’s work in the capital in unparalleled. Our main opposition is divided in pieces and it doesn’t even have a leader as party’s face for this election as they are busy with infighting,” Mr Aggarwal said.
However, Ms Dikshit appeared to be on the back foot when some journalists asked question about the Yamuna’s poor condition citing various reports blaming Delhi for it and poor law and order situation in the capital.
