CM to MLAs: Email complaints to me
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit now wants all the MLAs in the city to directly e-mail her their complaints about their Assembly constituencies. The move has come after last month’s consultation with all the 70 Delhi legislators with the chief minister who now wants to use e-governance to deal with complaints of MLAs as well.
It has been learnt that Ms Dikshit wrote to all the city MLAs to share their e-mail ids with her office. She also reportedly called them up to directly e-mail their concerns for speedy follow up action.
The chief minister office is of the opinion that much time is lost in the MLAs making rounds of various offices to get their work done. “It has also come to light that the MLAs complain about officials not acting on their complaints. Therefore, once the MLAs e-mail their concerns directly to the chief minister the matter will be dealt with speedily on priority,” said a senior official.
The last month’s interaction between the MLAs and the chief minister had brought forth the anguish of the legislators that the bureaucrats had been delaying work in their respective constituencies.
“Once the MLAs start e-mailing their concerns directly to the chief minister, she will lose no time in taking the matter with the concerned head of the departments. The chief minister’s direct involvement will ensure that the bureaucrats do not delay action as alleged,” added the official.
The city MLAs have been taking up their matters with the chief minister directly earlier also by meeting her but this move is expected to do away with the inconvenience faced by them, added the official.
