CM flags off 50 cluster 2 non-ac buses
Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday launched the Cluster-2 buses by flagging-off 50 non-AC buses.
“The under Cluster-2 will supplement the existing public transport system. The passengers will like private stage carriage buses under Cluster-2 with a number of new features,” Ms Dikshit said.
Officials said that a total of 119 buses will operate in the next cluster, starting with the Teevra Mudrika from Punjabi Bagh crossing on Ring Road.
The remaining buses will be introduced shortly.
The concessionaire for this cluster is AB Grain Spirits Pvt. Ltd.
“The new buses are equipped with GPS for real-time monitoring of their location, speed, and electronic ticketing machines that send real-time ticketing information to the back-end,” said an official.
“The cluster scheme is successfully meeting its target to provide safe, reliable and comfortable travel to people,” said Delhi transport minister Arvinder Singh Lovely.
