City to witness heat-wave condition soon

Delhiites continued to witness pleasant weather for the third day in a row but the pleasure may be short-lived and the capital may experience heat wave conditions in the coming days.
Met department forecast for a period till May 20 says, “After temporary respite during the weekend, the maximum temperature over Delhi NCR will rise rapidly from May 14 onwards and may reach 44-45 degree Celsius during May 16 to 20, leading to heat wave conditions.” It would be the “first sustained heat wave condition” over Delhi this summer, it said.
The heat wave condition in Delhi NCR will be the result of the absence of any western disturbance activity leading to mainly clear sky and hot North-Westerly winds, a Met official said.
The capital had a relatively pleasant weekend with the mercury staying below 40° Celsius last week. On Monday, the maximum temperature touched 37.6° Celsius, two degrees below normal but 1.5 degrees higher than Sunday’s 36.1° Celsius.
The minimum temperature also remained two degrees below normal at 23.2° Celsius, which was significantly below Sunday’s 26.7° Celsius.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
