City topper wants to pursue law
Although he has topped the CBSE Class 12 exams from Science stream in the capital, Divyanshu Aggrawal doesn’t want to be a computer geek or a scientist. Rather he is interested in joining the legal profession.
The other toppers, Vaishali Garg and Sneha Aggrawal from Commerce stream and Shruti Lakhtakia from Humanities, however, wish to stick to their stream.
“I want to join the legal profession like my father, who is a Supreme Court lawyer. The profession excites me. I have cleared an entrance exam of a reputed law university and am awaiting the CLAT result,” Divyanshu Aggrawal told this newspaper.
His key to success is rising early, sleeping early and time management. “I sleep at 9 pm and get up early at 4 am as at this time my concentration level is at its best. I never spent long hours at the study table. I was very regular in studies as I would everything daily at home,” Divyanshu, said.
Chemistry did pose a hurdle, but he tackled it by making notes and diagrams and pasting it on the wall so that he may memorise it every time he sees it. Divyanshu studied in DPS R.K. Puram and scored 97.2 percent. Three out of four all India toppers are from DPS R.K. Puram. Shruti Lakhtakia, topper in humanities stream from DPS R.K. Puram, did not sacrifice her films, music or picnics for studies.
“I didn’t’ leave things pending for end. I would devote an hour or two daily for studies. In the weekends, my study hours would stretch to over four hours. I didn’t’ sacrifice going for a movie or an outing with friends. I managed my time,” Shruti said. She, too, is from DPS R.K. Puram. She wants to join Sri Ram College of Commerce or St. Stephen’s and do economics honours.
Vaishali Garg from DPS R.K. Puram and Sneha Aggrawal from Rukmini Devi Public School, Pitampura, toppers in Science stream, scored 97.2 per cent. They want to join St Stephen’s or Sri Ram College of Commerce.
