CBSE: No practical exams ’11

The CBSE has decided not to hold practical exams for science and foundation technology from 2011. The CBSE board has also asked the school teachers not to express their views and comments on question papers in the media as this adds to the stress of the examinees.

The board has decided not to conduct practicals in science and foundation of information technology, from 2011 onwards. The practical part will be assessed along with the theory paper in the external examination, a statement issued by the board on the amendments in evaluation system said.
The board has forbidden teachers from expressing their views on question papers. “Schools should send their reactions and perceptions direct to the board instead of expressing them in the media. As examinees are under heavy stress and anxiety, adverse views on papers often upset them (students) in their preparations for remaining examinations,” it said.
