CBI to probe role of transport staff afresh
A city court has directed the CBI to probe afresh the role of transport department officials in running unauthorised motor driving training schools (MDTS), including
those owned by their kin. Special judge Sanjeev Jain has asked the CBI to re-investigate the matter, rejecting their plea to close the case on the ground that sufficient evidence was not found against the officials to chargesheet them, despite them having been found guilty of committing “omission and lapses”.
“As per the closure report, in the cases of number of MDTS, lapses/deficiencies were found in respect of issuance/renewal of licence. A number of unauthorised MDTS were found operational without any licence,” the court said.
