Car showroom exec robbed of car, cash
A 27-year-old car showroom executive was held hostage at gunpoint and robbed of his Santro car and cash by three armed assailants in west Delhi’s Nangloi area on Thursday evening.
The police said the victim, identified as Atul, a resident of Najafgarh, had dropped one of his colleagues at the Rajdhani Enclave Metro Station and was about to proceed towards his residence on Rohtak Road when three unidentified assailants intercepted him at around 8 pm.
“The victim, who works as a floor incharge at Deep Hyundai showroom on GT Karnal Road, was looking for his mobile phone in his car after dropping his friend when one of the assailants put a gun on the back of his neck. The other two assailants then entered the vehicle and tied his arms and legs with a duct tape and sped off,” said additional commissioner of police (west) V. Renganathan.
“The assailants, all in their 20s, drove towards Bahadurgarh and started asking the victim about his family. They threw the victim out of the car in an agricultural plot when he begged them to let him go for the sake of his four-year-old daughter,” said a senior police officer investigating the incident.
The victim then made a call to the police control room by borrowing a phone from a passerby at around 8.45 pm after tearing the duct tape on his arms and legs.
“We have registered a case of robbery at the Nangloi police station and a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants,” additional commissioner of police, Mr Renganathan said.
