Burglars’ gang busted, Rs 25 lakhs cosmetics seized

Sleuths from the crime branch of Delhi police have arrested five burglars allegedly involved in several burglaries in the city and recovered cosmetic products worth `25 lakhs and other goods.

A senior police official said the accused have been identified as Manoj Kumar, Sunil Sahni, Neeraj Kumar, Amit Chaudhary and Hasmukh, alias Raj Kumar.
“We were working on inputs from our informers to bust the gang. We got to know that a gang burgled a godown in Burari area and stole cosmetics worth millions of rupees,” said the official.
A raid was conducted following a tip-off and the accused were arrested. The police said that the kingpin of the gang Manoj Kumar had taken a godown on rent to store stolen articles. He provided inputs about shops and godowns for burglary.
“Sunil broke the lock of the godown and put his own in place. He then hires a tempo and took away the stuff posing as the staff member of the godown,” said the police official.
