Building collapses, 11 hurt

At least 11 labourers were injured when an under-construction building collapsed at Bawana in outer Delhi on Sunday. The rescue operations were going on till late in the evening. While the possibility of more labourers being trapped under the debris was not strong, fire department officials said that the exact number of those injured would be known only after the operations were formally stopped.
According to a fire department spokesperson, the incident occurred in Sector-4 of Bawana when a lintel collapsed.
Initial reports suggested that only two persons were injured, while six others were trapped under the debris. However, as rescue operations proceeded it was found that at least 11 people, all labourers, were injured. All of them were taken to a nearby hospital and they were reported to be out of danger.
The Bawana police has registered a case of causing injuries due to negligence.
