BPO exec found killed in E. Delhi
A young BPO executive was found dead near Akshardham Temple Metro Station in east Delhi on Monday evening. Police officials said the deceased, identified as Rohit, 27, was found lying in a pool of blood on a footpath near Akshardham Metro Station at around 11.30 pm on Monday by a passerby who informed the police.
A team of police personnel arrived at the spot and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital in a PCR van where he was declared brought dead.
Investigations revealed that Rohit was working with Infotech Private Limited, a BPO in Nehru Place area. He used to leave his office at around 10.30 pm and commuted by Outer Mudrika bus to reach east Delhi. His father, Kanta Prasad, who works with a BPO too, used to pick him up from the Mother Dairy bus stand. The family lives in Mayur Vihar Phase 3.
“He had made a call to his parents from his office on Monday evening telling them that he will get home in an hour. He left office at around 10.30 pm. When he didn’t reach, his family tried to contact him on his phone but he didn’t respond. The family then approached the police and a search operation was launched,” a police official said.
“His body had multiple injuries inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon. Robbery was not the motive behind the killing as his bag, mobile phone and `700 were found intact. We are investigating the case from all angles. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case of murder has been registered,” the official said.
