Boy hit by javelin, critical
In a bizarre incident, a Class 6 student was critically injured after he was hit by a javelin thrown by two students inside a government school in Chittaranjan Park area of South Delhi.
According to information, the incident took place on Tuesday evening. A senior police official said the victim was identified as Roshan Lama. He has been admitted in the ICU of AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he is undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be critical by the doctors.
Suraj Lama, the father of the victim, said on Tuesday that at around 4 pm, he got to know that his son was injured in a mishap that took place inside school premises.
“Roshan left home for school at around 12.30 pm on Tuesday. He reached the play ground of the school with his friends, where few Class 12 students were busy in javelin throw practice. Roshan was walking on the ground. A javelin that was thrown by a student hit him on his right temple. He collapsed on the ground, writhing in pain,” said Suraj, the victim’s father.
A mob gathered at the incident spot and the school administration was informed of the incident. A PCR was called and Roshan was taken to a nearby private hospital and later on referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre after his condition deteriorated.
The police official said they have registered an FIR under Section 337 against the physical training instructor of the school.
