Boy, 7, sodomised in East Delhi

A seven-year-old Class 1 student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi.

A senior police official said the mother of the victim approached the police on Wednesday night. The police lodged an FIR of sodomy after getting the medical report of the victim.
The victim, a student of Class 1, lives with his parents and six sisters in Kanti Nagar.
“The boy’s mother works as maid. Last month, she and her son went to work at the house of a businessman Pawan Bansal in Krishna Nagar. When she was busy in her work, Bansal’s tenant Vivek lured the boy into his room where he sexually assaulted him,” said a police official.
The boy started crying after the assault and narrated the incident to his mother.
Vivek, his landlord’s son Rajesh and one Kallu threatened the woman of dire consequences if she approached the police. The woman got afraid and remained silent. However, when her son’s condition deteriorated on July 31, she rushed him to a nearby government hospital where doctors confirmed sexual assault.
“The accused is absconding and we have launched a manhunt to nab him,” said the police official.
Meanwhile, in another incident a 10-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a man in Nehru Place, southeast Delhi. A senior police official said an FIR has been lodged at the Kalkaji police station.
“We have arrested the accused Dharamendra,” said the official.
Meanwhile, a woman allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance near Vijay Chowk in Parliament Street area.
A senior police official said that a call was received at around 2 pm that a woman was found unconscious near Vijay Chowk. A police team reached the spot and rushed her to the RML Hospital. “She was identified as Shiv Kumari, a native of Jharkhand. No suicide note was recovered from her,” said the police official.
