Body-in-bag case: Victim was Burmese, says police
The Delhi police has identified the woman whose body was found stuffed in a bag in a flat at Uttam Nagar, west Delhi, last Friday. The victim was identified with the help of a voter card recovered from the room where her body was found
The police said the victim has been identified as Chong Cecelia, 22, a Burmese national living in Manipur. She got married in 2005 and came to Delhi with her husband whose name was not disclosed by the police.
“The couple got separated in 2010. They didn’t have kids,” additional commissioner of police (west), V. Renganathan said.
The police said Cecelia was staying with her friends in south Delhi. “She used to frequent the Mahesh Nagar flat of the prime accused, Nwayor Mac Aghagbor, alias Mark. She had introduced him as her ‘boyfriend’ to friends who were questioned,” Mr Renganathan said.
“Some associates of Mark have been picked up and they are being questioned to ascertain his whereabouts. So far, no arrests have been made in the case,” a senior police official said.
The police has informed the family members of Cecelia.
Cecelia’s decomposed body was found stuffed in a bag dumped in an apartment in Uttam Nagar on Friday.
