Bluelines to ply in South Delhi areas
The Delhi high court on Friday gave a breather to Blueline operators plying buses in south Delhi by an order that the notification of the NCT government for complete phaseout of the buses from roads by December 14 will not apply to cluster one.
Justice Indermit Kaur said this court’s March order permitting the plea of the Blueline bus operators to ply their buses will continue till its further order and the October 27 notification will not apply to cluster one after hearing a petition filed by south Delhi Blueline bus operators alleging that the government has failed to procure the requisite number of new low-floor buses for cluster one and taken an unreasonable decision to phaseout completely 2,400 buses without proper arrangement.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government is likely to appeal against the HC order staying the phaseout of Blueline buses in cluster one, which includes routes in south Delhi areas.
Delhi transport minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said that he would react on the court order only after getting a copy of it, senior officials maintained that the government would appeal against the court stay.
