Areas in S. Delhi to face powercuts
May 3: South Delhi areas may witness powercuts as a 220 KV power transmission line from Badarpur Thermal Power Station to Okhla is going to be shutdown from May 3 till May 17 due to the ongoing work of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Delhi Transco, in a statement, has said that the Metro is raising the height of transmission towers near Sarita Vihar depot because of which the 220 KV line will be shutdown for about 12 days, to ensure that the Metro gets clear passage after hiking the height of its transmission lines.
“The arrangements have been made to back feed the areas with uninterrupted power supply. However, in case of any exigency power supply may be affected in some of the South Delhi areas,” the Transco has stated. The areas of Masjid Moth, Okhla, Mehrauli, Tuglakabad, Nehru Place, Andheria Bagh, JNU, Munirka, Vasant Kunj, Vasant Vihar, East of Kailash, Greater Kailash, Balaji Extension and adjoining areas are likely to be affected due to the planned shutdown.
