Accused’s cousin granted bail
A Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to the man who was arrested for harbouring and helping the main accused in the murder case of a girl, Neetu Solanki, whose body was allegedly found at the New Delhi railway station. After hearing the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence, Patiala house court additional sessions judge (ASJ) granted bail to Naveen Shokeen (25), after he furnished a personal bail bond and surety.
“The court granted bail to the accused (Naveen), as the offence committed by him was bailable in nature. He would be asked to join the investigation further, if needed. The police, infact, did not seek custodial interrogation of the accused,” Additional DCP (railways) B.S. Gujjar, told this newspaper.
“Meanwhile, we are working on the leads available with us to arrest the prime accused, Raju Gehlot, (29) in the case,” Mr Gujjar further added.
Raju has been absconding since the murder took place. The police have arrested Raju’s cousin, Naveen, for allegedly sheltering the accused and helping him with money after the crime. The body of Neetu was found outside the New Delhi railway station on February 11 inside an airbag and had remained unidentified till February 23 when her father Kartar Singh approached the police to claim the body.
