Abductors sight cops, set free girl

A 15-year-old girl was kidnapped in a Tata Sumo jeep by three persons, including two BPO cab drivers, who abandoned her on seeing police pickets ahead. The incident was reported from Kirti Nagar area of west Delhi on Sunday afternoon. The accused were reportedly arrested on Monday night.

According to the police officials, the girl, a resident of a slum cluster in Kirti Nagar, was kidnapped at around 11.30 pm on Sunday by the three men who beat up her father so badly that he lost two teeth in the attack.
The police was informed and messages were flashed about the kidnapping.
Some time later, the girl was found near ESI Hospital.
The girl later told the police officials that the three accused men threw her out of the vehicle near ESI Hospital on realising that police pickets had been put up.
The police arrested the suspects, identified as Santosh Kumar, Kasim alias Munna and Titu, at Mayapuri Chowk around 10 pm on Monday when they were trying to flee from Delh.
The accused have allegedly confessed to the crime. The vehicle on lease of a BPO company was being driven by drivers, Santosh and Kasim. .
A senior police official said that the accused had their eyes on the girl. “The girl had a friendly disposition and used to talk to them once a while. But the accused took it otherwise and made advances which were futile. The accused then thought of kidnapping her,” said the official.

Man held for murder in Nangloi

With the arrest of Nirmal alias Lucky, the police claimed to have solved the murder case of Rakesh, whose body was found at Nangloi on the intervening night of January 23 and 24.
According to the police officials, Nirmal, who allegedly killed Rakesh after being fed up with his persistent demand for money, had admitted to the offence.
The dagger used in the crime has also been recovered, the police said.
The accused, who worked as a sweeper at a car showroom here, was apprehended from Rajdhani Park Metro Station when he was trying to fled to Haryana
