Abducted, gangraped girl rescued
The police on Tuesday said that it rescued a 15-year-old who was trafficked, gangraped and sold for `8 lakhs. The police arrested a pimp from Darjeeling, West Bengal. A senior police official said the victim was kidnapped from Hazrat Nizamuddin area of southeast Delhi around nine months ago.
A senior police official said the victim, a Class 9 student, was kidnapped by her male friends in October 2012. Her family lodged an FIR of her going missing.
“The girl made a phone call to her family on August 2. She told her mother she was being gangraped and beaten up daily. Her mother informed the cops and the number was traced to Darjeeling. A team was immediately sent to her rescue,” said the police official.
The police team developed the information and rescued the girl on August 9. A woman pimp, identified as Noorjahan, was also arrested.
“The girl told the police that she was held hostage at various locations in NCR where she was gangraped. Her kidnappers sold her to a woman in Delhi. The woman then sold her to Noorjahan for `8 lakhs. Noorjahan said that she was planning to sell the girl to a man in Saudi Arabia,” said the police official.
