72 new dengue cases in city over a week
The total number of people affected by dengue in the city has risen to 283, with 72 people testing positive for the mosquito-borne disease in the past one week here.
Eight new cases of dengue were reported from different hospitals in the past 24 hours, according to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
“A total of eight dengue cases have been reported from different hospitals in the last 24 hours. In the past one week, a total 72 people have been affected by the dengue menace,” chairman of MCD health committee, V.K. Monga, said.
He said that on an average eight to ten cases are being reported daily.
“We have strengthened our detection facilities in all areas. People should be cautious against mosquito breeding especially during September, October and November when dengue and chikungunya strike more. A majority of the cases have been from Najafgarh area,” he said.
