4-yr-old dies after falling in manhole
Protests erupted in a colony in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka against a civic agency after a four-year-old girl fell into an open manhole and died on Tuesday afternoon.
The police said the incident took place near an open field situated adjacent to Ramakrishna Apartments, Pocket 12 of Sector 23, Dwarka, at around 3 pm where a group of children were playing.
The deceased identified as Sonia, a resident of Pochanpur in Dwarka, had gone to the field to play with her friends when she tripped near an uncovered manhole and fell into it. Her friends got terrified and rushed to her residence and informed her parents about the incident.
As soon as the news of Sonia’s death spread in the locality, a number of agitated people gathered and staged protest demonstrations against DDA.
