4 pickpockets held at Metro stations
The police has arrested four persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in pick pocketing from different stations of the Delhi Metro during a special checking drive. The accused have been identified as Babita, 26, Moti, 19, Ravi, 32, and Waseem, 24.
The woman Babita, a resident of Rohini, was arrested from the Kalka Ji Mandir Metro Station.
A purse containing `2,420 was recovered from her.
Another accused Moti, a resident of Shahdara, was arrested at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.
“The accused was caught red-handed while trying to pick a pocket. An iPhone-5 was recovered from him. An FIR under Sections 379/411 was registered against him,” the official added.
“Two men, Ravi and Waseem, were found roaming suspiciously. When questioned about their presence in Metro in the peak hours, they were not able to give satisfactory answers. Later during questioning it was found that Ravi was involved in six cases of pick pocketing in the past. Waseem was also booked for pick pocketing,” the official added.
