20-yr-old girl abducted, molested; youth held

In yet another case of kidnapping, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from outside a multiplex in the Prashant Vihar area of outer Delhi and later molested by a management student, who has been arrested by the police.

The police said the girl had come to PVR in Prashant Vihar to watch a movie with her male friend. The victim was allegedly kidnapped when her friend had gone to buy the tickets for the movie.
The incident took place at around 11.30 in the morning, when the duo, both residents of Rohini, had come to watch the early morning show of a movie.
According to the complaint filed by her friend when he came out after purchasing the tickets, he saw his car and the victim missing.
“I was shocked to find her missing along with my Hyundai Accent car and I immediately made a PCR call,” the victim’s friend said. The local police swung into action.
“Initially we suspected it to be a case of some stranger involved in the crime but a local shopkeeper told us that the boy, who abducted the victim, had spoken to her for a couple of minutes before fleeing with the car,’ said a senior police official.
About an hour later, the victim, along with car, was found in the Bawana area of Outer Delhi.
The accused, who was later identified as Akash, 22, a BBA student, was arrested by the police immediately. “The accused was brought to the local police station and interrogated where he confessed that he knew the victim from the past two years,” the official said.
“The accused had met her at Rohini where she was attending some coaching classes. The accused told us that he was in love with the victim but she had not been reciprocating and took the extreme step to motivate her,” added the official.
The police said that it had registered a case of kidnapping and criminal intimidation against the accused.
