2 killed, UPSC aspirant hurt in mishaps
Two persons were killed and a UPSC aspirant was injured in two separate accident cases that took place in the city on Saturday night.
The first mishap took place in the ISBT area where a UPSC aspirant sustained injuries while his 27-year-old friend was killed after the bike they were riding was hit by a speeding truck.
A senior police official said the incident occurred at around 11.30 pm. The deceased was identified as Karamveer.
“Karamveer was travelling on a bike with his friend Devesh, a UPSC aspirant. Devesh was riding the bike. When they reached Nigambodh Ghat, a speeding truck rammed into their bike. Both were thrown off the bike and Karamveer was crushed to death,” said the police official.
The official said the errant truck driver fled from the spot after the incident along with the truck. “Devesh is stable now,” said the police official.
In another incident, a DTC bus mowed down a 30-year-old man in Begampur area of Outer Delhi.
Police official said the deceased, identified as Ashok, used to deal in real estate and lived in Budh Vihar area with his family members. On Saturday night, he was on his way home when a DTC bus, plying on the route number 962, crushed him to death.
