2 arrested for supplying fake driving licences

The crime branch of the Delhi police has arrested two persons and claimed to have busted an organised racket involved in supplying fake driving licences and birth certificates. The police recovered 21 fake driving licenses, 31 fake stamps of several state transport authorities and holographic stickers from the accused identified as Babu Ram and Ram Singh.
The police got a tip-off that Babu Ram and his associates were supplying fake driving licences and birth certificates.
“Babu Ram was the first to be arrested. We sent a decoy customer and a deal was struck for a fake driving licence. The decoy paid `2,000 to the accused who asked him to wait. He returned and handed a fake licence to him. Babu Ram was arrested and eight other fake driving licences, a fake birth certificate and cash were recovered from him,” said the official.
Babu Ram revealed that he had been supplying fake driving licences for over an year with the help of his associates Ram Singh, Dheerdhwaj, Akram Bhodha, Ashok and Dharamveer. At his instance, Ram Singh was also arrested.
“The accused have supplied 1,500 fake licenses to various persons,” said the official.

Seats increased in Economics, commerce courses

Economics course, the most popular course in Delhi University, will now be taught in 51 colleges after the seats re-appropriation for the four-year undergraduate programme.
The new colleges where economics will be taught now include Bharti College (40 seats), Bhim Rao Ambedkar College (50), Deen Dayal Upadhyay College(50), Motilal Nehru College (90).
Commerce (Hons) has a total of 12,300 seats across 55 colleges. The colleges that got the maximum number of seats are SRCC (501), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (473), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Evening) 307.
Mathematics course taught in 27 colleges till now, has been extended to 21 more colleges, including Bharti College (40), Gargi Evening College, Kamla Nehru College (42) and Maharaja Agrasen College (60).
English will be taught in seven new colleges, taking the total of colleges to 53. The colleges which requested English in Discipline Course I are Bhim Rao Ambedkar College (50), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Evening) 53.
