1.2 kg gold looted from showroom

Four armed assailants held the owner of a jewellery shop hostage at gunpoint in Palam area and decamped with 1.5 kg gold on Tuesday afternoon,

The incident took place in Irshad Nagar area of Palam. The four armed assailants came on two motorcycles at “Balaji Jewellers” and asked the owner Hari Ram, a resident of Rewari, Haryana, to show gold items.
“Hari Ram took out two boxes and displayed the items when one of the assailants took out a revolver and held him hostage while his three accomplices gathered the gold items and escaped. Hari Ram made a call to the police control room,” said additional DCP (southwest) Parmaditya.
Hari Ram has told the police that the assailants took away 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, “One of the assailants had reconnoitred the shop two days ago posing as a customer. The assailants were not masked and only one of them was carrying a firearm,” a senior police official said.
