Yuvraj's chances depend on others failure

Such is sports that once a player loses his place in the side, his fortunes depend on somebody else's failure as is the case with Yuvraj Singh. With the kind of talent Yuvraj is blessed with, he can literally walk into any side without much trouble and sports is completely performance oriented and so is selection.From the prospective of a selector it is always a good problem to have but for a player who has lost his place, it is mixture of both luck and performance, as Yuvraj Singh might soon find out.With the kind of knocks Yuvraj has played off late, there is no doubting the fact that he is back to form and is waiting for his chance to make a comeback in a side where there are more than a couple of players fighting for one spot.Going by the current scenario the top-order of the Indian team looks pretty much settled with Rohit Sharma opening with Shikhar Dhawan. To be fair to Rohit, he has not done too badly in the Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli is irreplaceable in the side and Ravindra Jadeja has come by leaps and bounds in the past of couple of years. Suresh Raina has been the mainstay of the middle-order along with Mahendra SIngh Dhoni and that pretty much leaves us with one spot which was filled by Dinesh Karthik in the Champions Trophy.Dinesh Karthik was in great form in England in the warm matches of the Champions Trophy and although he did not have a great tournament, he just about did enough to keep his place. It would be unfair to drop him and he deserves a few more opportunities to prove himself as it can be with any other player.Yuvraj Singh might have to wait for his opportunity as there is hardly any place vacant in the side which has done brilliantly in the recent times, only to be fair to other players. But then again the question is whether you can keep a player of his caliber out of the side who can make all the difference in a match within a blink of an eye.The selectors have their work cut out but as said earlier, it is always a good problem to have rather than picking up guys just to fill in the numbers. We will just have to wait and watch which way they go as picking Yuvraj will only strengthen the side and not the other way round.
