Windies back in game as bowlers strike
New Delhi: The smooth sailing South African innings hit rocks as the spin-pace duo Sulieman Benn and Kemar Roach dug out stunners to strike off Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis here at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
Windies are back in the game, which was taken away from them by the leg-spinner Imran Tahir who snared four wickets on debut and bundled out the them for 222 off 47.3 overs in the World Cup Group B match on Thursday.
Tahir (4-41) was well supported by off-spinner Johan Botha who opened the attack and gave the Proteas key breakthroughs in the spin-dominated day-night clash.
The duo justified the decision of captain Graeme Smith to field three specialist spinners on a ground, which is hosting its first international in a year after being banned for a dangerous playing surface.
